Competition in EV Trucks
As competition increases for plug-in trucks like EV Trucks, the automaker is working around the clock to meet customer demand. Stellantis NV recently debuted the first fully electric Ram pickup.
Based on what Koval said in the interview. All future interactions our customers have with Ram will be influenced by the Ram Revolution. A manufacturer that didn’t believe in EVs before is using the pickup as a proving ground for some of the most fuel-hungry vehicles on the road today.
Motor City
Munro & Associates, an engineering firm that Sandy Munro founded, is well-known in Motor City. For instance, “If Stellantis wants to survive, they’re going to have to beat at least one of the big dogs in trucks,”
Due to the higher initial cost of production, electric vehicles have been marketed primarily to the affluent. The price of General Motors’ electric Hummer is over $100,000.
Koval’s Idea about Ram Truck
According to Koval, the target audience for the new Ram truck is wide open. Like the petrol variant, it will be based on a lineup that includes work trucks (like the $40,000 Tradesman) and performance SUVs (like the $80,000 TRX) that cost between $20,000 and $80,000.As Koval put it in an interview, “Everything our customers see from Ram in the future will be a direct descendant of this Ram Revolution concept.” With the advantage of hindsight, we can now confidently declare, “We will exceed what our rivals have promised.”
A manufacturer that didn’t believe in EVs before is using the pickup as a proving ground for some of the most fuel-hungry vehicles on the road today. The reliable Ford F-150 Lightning and the innovative Rivian R1T will be its primary rivals.

Sandy Munro’s words about trucks
Munro & Associates CEO Sandy Munro of Detroit, Michigan, says Stellantis “needs to beat at least one of the big dogs in trucks” for the company to succeed.
The truck manufacturer jumped to the second spot in the lucrative US truck market earlier in 2019 after including a 12-inch touch screen inspired by the Apple iPad in a redesigned, gasoline-powered Ram 1500.
Stellantis, formed by the 2020 merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and France’s PSA Group, will be known for reviving classic models like the Dodge muscle cars through innovative design and marketing. A successful new electric model is more difficult to develop than a more powerful engine or a new body style, as pointed out by Edmunds analyst Ivan Drury.
He asked rhetorically, “What are you going to do with a full redesign?” They are definitely looking for payback.
‘Shadow Mode’ storage about EV trucks
Stellantis says the features it’s showcasing in Vegas aren’t the final production version but rather catered to construction workers, explorers, and tailgaters. The truck bed and front trunk (or “frunk”) provide a combined 18 feet of cargo space, the third row of jump seats can be removed in seconds, and the vehicle has an artificial intelligence-powered “shadow mode” that responds to voice commands from outside the vehicle.
Ram plans to provide a gas-powered range extender in response to customer complaints about the vehicle’s limited cruising distance. When asked where the automobiles were assembled, the company gave conflicting answers.
Due to the higher initial cost of production, electric vehicles have been marketed primarily to the affluent. More than $100,000 is required to purchase General Motors’ all-electric Hummer.
As promised, access will be granted to all of EV trucks.
According to Koval, the target market for the new Ram pickup is expansive. Built on the same chassis as the gas-powered model, you’ll be able to choose between the mid-$40,000 Tradesman work truck and the $80,000 TRX performance model.
The rising cost of inputs has made it difficult for automakers to maintain low MSRPs while still turning a profit. In June of last year, Ford increased the price of the F-150 Lightning, and General Motors increased the price of Hummers.
